WHAT WILL MY CHILD LEARN?

6 MONTHS TO 1 YEAR

Lessons are focused on teaching your child to roll onto their back, maintaining a float while resting, and breathing in this life-saving position until help arrives to pull them out of the water.

1.5 YEARS AND OLDER

Lessons are focused on teaching your child the swim-float-swim sequence; swim with their head underwater, roll onto their back to rest and breathe in a float, then roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the edge of the pool where they can either pull themselves out or wait to be rescued.

PROGRAM GRADUATES

Maintaining and furthering self-rescue skill development is extremely important. Your child's rapid development process represents improved strength, coordination, and a more finely tuned cognitive ability. In accordance with this growth, program graduates are encouraged to participate in maintenance lessons in subsequent sessions or refresher lessons annually.

ABOUT ISR

Our Lessons

This program is for children 6 months - 12 years old and is taught by attending lessons 5 days per week, 10 minutes per day for approximately 6 weeks. All lessons are taught one-on-one to prioritize your child’s needs and safety. Students with pre-existing medical conditions or sensory disorders may require additional lessons.

Our Mission

“Not One More Child Drowns,” is the foundation of everything we do. Did you know that drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death for children under five? As parents, we‘re diligent about installing and buckling car seats correctly. We ensure medications and chemicals are locked up and out of reach. We insist on helmets, look out for choking hazards, and discuss stranger danger. But, do we give that same attention to water safety? Drowning is preventable.

History of ISR

Founded in 1966, ISR is the global leader in the industry it pioneered - survival swim lessons for infants and young children. Our team of over 450 highly-trained Instructors provides littles with the safest and most effective survival swim lessons available. The instruction our students receive today is the product of over 50 years of research and achieves unparalleled, lasting safety results, and builds a foundation for lifelong enjoyment of the water.

HOW IT WORKS

  • ISR is taught year-round in standard 6 week sessions. Lessons are held 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) for 10 minutes per day.

  • Research shows that short, more frequent lessons result in higher retention in young children. Consistency is the key to the success of your child during lessons!

  • Unlike traditional swim lessons, ISR lessons are taught one-one and emphasize survival in addition to swim skills. In comparison, ISR teaches skills in 6 weeks that generally take 3-5 years to achieve in traditional swim lessons. Email us for more info.

  • Each session will vary slightly. We host lessons in residential pools in Calabasas, Camarillo, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, and Woodland Hills. Check our instagram or session schedule for updates!
